In Ontario, we call these tasty teats freezies but you might know them as freeze pops or push pops. These fun and tasty treats are always a hit at my house in the summer months and while typically, the kids wrap a paper towel around theirs, these crochet holders are much more eco friendly and easily washable.
Make your own freezie holders using the free crochet pattern below…
This pattern is available for free here on my blog. An ad-free, neatly formatted, printer friendly version is also available in my Etsy shop.
You may sell items completed from this pattern but please provide credit back to Sweet Bee Crochet and if possible, link back to the pattern location. You may not sell this written pattern or use my photos without consent. You may not use my photos to sell your completed items.
**I would love to see your own creative spin on colours and how you’ve made it unique. Tag me on Instagram (@sweet_bee_crochet) to show off your finished piece!**

Notes:
– This pattern is written in US terms (find a stitch conversion chart here)
– Gauge is not important for this pattern
– After seaming, the finished holder measures approx. 6cm x 10cm
– Beginning CH 1 does not count as a stitch throughout the pattern
– This pattern can adjusted in size by increase the starting chain and/or row repeat
Materials Needed:
– Approximately 19 yards of worsted weight cotton yarn (I used WeCrochet Dishie)
– 4mm hook
– Yarn needle
– Scissors
– Measuring tape
Stitches:
CH – Chain
SS – Slip Stitch
SC – Single Crochet
HDC – Half Double Crochet
Pattern:
CH 17 and begin row 1 in the second CH from your hook.
Row 1:
Into the first stitch and each stitch across, place 1 HDC. CH 1 and turn
(16 HDC stitches)
Row 2-16:
Into the first stitch and each stitch across, make 1 HDC. CH 1 and turn (photo A).
(16 HDC stitches)

Edging:
Fold the panel in half with the working loop in front on the top left. Working through both the front and back pieces, evenly place 1 SC down the side, across the bottom and up the other side, making 2 SC into the bottom corners to create a curve (photos B and C). Fasten off, weave in all ends.
