Cute 5 Petal Flower – Free Crochet Pattern

These little crochet flowers are only 2 rounds and are the sweetest little projects. Add them to headbands, bags, blankets, hats….you name it! It’s the perfect for smaller bits of stash yarn and they are oh so cute!

Notes:
– This pattern is written in US terms (find a stitch conversion chart here)
– Gauge is not important for this pattern
– Finished flower measures approximately 2 inches in diameter
– Beginning CH 2 counts as a stitch in round 1

Materials Needed:
– Approximately 5 yards of worsted weight yarn (I used Estelle Sudz). 2 yards for colour A and 3 yards for colour B
– 4mm hook
– Yarn needle
– Scissors
– Measuring tape

Stitches:
CH – Chain
SS – Slip Stitch
SK – Skip Stitch
DC – Double Crochet


Pattern:
With yarn colour A, make a magic circle OR CH 3 and SS into the beginning CH to make a loop.

Round 1:
CH 2 (counts as 1 DC) and place 9 DC into the loop. SS into the 2nd CH for the beginning CH 2. Fasten off.

(10 DC stitches)

Round 2 (yarn colour B):
Join yarn colour B into the top of any DC with a SS. Working all into the same stitch, *CH 2, 3 DC, CH 2, SS. SK 1 stitch.* Repeat from * to * 4 more times. SS into the top of the beginning SS. Fasten off, and weave in all ends.

(15 DC stitches, 10 CH 2)
