Notes:
– This pattern is written in US terms (find a stitch conversion chart here)
– The finished ghost measure approximately 4 ½ cm x 5 ½ cm
– Gauge is not important for this pattern
– This pattern is worked in continuous rounds and uses the magic ring
– Placing a stitch marker into the first stitch of each round is helpful in maintaining stitch count when working in continuous rounds
– Hang this little ghost around the house, attach to gifts or use it as an accent in a DIY bunting
– The photos included show the ghost in a colour other than white to allow better images of the stitches
Materials Needed:
– Approximately 8 yards of worsted weight cotton yarn in white
– 3.5mm hook
– Yarn needle
– Scissors
– Stitch marker
– Measuring tape
– One 1×1 inch of black felt for the eyes
– Fabric glue to attach the felt eyes
Stitches:
SS – Slip Stitch
SC – Single Crochet
DC – Double Crochet

Pattern:
Begin with a magic ring.
Round 1:
Into the ring, place 6 SC. Tighten and secure your centre ring.
(6 SC stitches)
Round 2:
Place 2 SC into each stitch around.
(12 SC stitches)
Round 3:
Into the first stitch, *place 1 SC followed by 2 SC in the next stitch.* Repeat from * to * 5 more times.
(18 SC stitches)
Rounds 4-11:
Into the first stitch and each stitch around, place 1 SC.
(18 SC stitches)
Edging:
For this section, you will be working into two stitches at the same time (the front and back of the project). “Stitch” will refer to working into two stitches at once.
Flatten the ghost so that the working yarn is on the right and place 1 DC directly into the first stitch (photo A) followed by 1 SS into the next stitch. *Place 1 DC into the next stitch and one SS in the following stitch.* Repeat from * to * 2 more times. Place 1 DC into the last stitch (photo B). Fasten off and weave in ends.
(5 DC stitches, 4 SS = 9 stitches)

Eyes:
Cut 2 circles or ovals sized to fit your ghost. Attach in the appropriate spots with a dab of fabric glue.
To Hang:
Cut a piece of yarn to desired length and attach to the top of your ghost to turn into a hanging ornament. If you are making a bunting, you might also choose to stitch the ghost directly to your project.
