Notes:
– This pattern is written in US terms (find a stitch conversion chart here)
– Gauge is not important for this pattern
– You might find it beneficial to block your star to help accentuate the points at the tip
– The finished star measures approximately 2 inches after blocking
Materials Needed:
– Approximately 4 yards of worsted weight cotton yarn. I used WeCrochet Dishie
– 4mm hook
– Beads (I used 10mm wool beads but you might choose to use acrylic or wood)
– Yarn needle
– Scissors
– Measuring tape
Stitches:
CH – Chain
SS – Slip Stitch
SC – Single Crochet
HDC – Half Double Crochet
DC – Double Crochet
DC/PIC – Double Crochet Picot
Special Stitch Tutorials:
Double Crochet Picot (DC/PIC) – Make a DC stitch, CH 2 and SS into the first CH.

Pattern:
Begin with a magic loop or CH 3 and SS into the beginning CH to make a loop.
Round 1:
CH 4 (counts as 1 SC, CH 3). Working into your loop, make *2 SC and CH 3.* Repeat from * to * 3 more times. Make 1 SC and SS into the first CH of the beginning CH 4.
(10 SC, 5 CH 3 spaces)
Round 2: (Working only in the CH 3 spaces)
Into the first CH 3 space, *make 1 SC, 1 HDC, 1 DC/PIC, 1 DC, 1 HDC, 1 SC.* Repeat from * to * in each of the next 4 remaining CH spaces. SS into the top of the beginning SC. Fasten off, tighten centre loop and weave in ends.
(5 CH spaces, each containing 2 SC, 2 HDC, 1 DC, 1 DC/PIC)
Adding the Beads:
Cut a piece of yarn (approximately 11 inches) in the same colour as your star. Pull one end through the top of one of the tips. Bring both yarn tails through the beads and tie the ends together.
