I have the perfect pattern for you today! The Sweet and Simple Crochet Basket is a simple make that works up quickly using Bernat Home Dec yarn. A great project with endless possibilities for use. Are you ready to make one of your own? Here we go!

As of August 8, 2022, this pattern has a refreshing update! New photos and a clear pattern layout to reflect consistency with my other designs. Stitch counts and pattern details remain the same. The Ravelry listing has also been updated with the new .pdf file.

(10 DC Stitches)

Repeat rounds 5 and 6. Place 1 stitch marker into any HDC of round 9 to mark where you will fold for shaping. CH 2 after round 10.

Rounds 11-13:
Place 1 DC into each stitch around. SS into the first DC of the round. CH 2. After round 13, fasten off and weave in ends.

Shaping The Basket:
Fold the top of your basket down at round 9 where your stitch marker is. Round 13 should be at the bottom touching the inside base of the basket. Smooth out your edges and shape if needed.

Your basket is complete! Some ideas for use are:
– Bedside basket (lip balm, hair elastics, hair clips)
– Bathroom counter (dental floss, small container of hand lotion, tissues, face scrubbies, small make up containers or sponges)
– Storage for small toys or small toy accessories
– Holiday treats and goodies
– Crochet items like small scissors, yarn needles, stitch markets, tape measure, etc.
– Desk organization (paper clips, push pins, small memo pads)
