Lemon Peel Stitch:
The lemon peel stitch starts with an odd number of chains OR multiples of 2 plus 1. It is made by alternating SC and DC stitches, always ending on a DC. For a detailed tutorial, click here. This pattern uses a variation of the traditional lemon peel stitch. The SC and DC stitches alternate in the front and back loops across the row.

Pattern:
CH 21

Row 1:
Into the second CH from your hook and each stitch across, place 1 SC. CH 1 and turn.

(22 SC stitches)

Rows 2-15:
Place 1 BLSC into each stitch across the row. CH 1 and turn.

(22 BLSC stitches)

Rows 16-96:
Into the first stitch, *place 1 FLSC. Into the next stitch, place 1 BLDC.* Repeat from * to * across the row, ending with a BLDC. CH 1 and turn.

(11 FLSC stitches, 11 BLDC stitches = 22 stitches)

Rows 97-111:
Place 1 BLSC into each stitch across the row. CH 1 and turn. After row 111, do not CH 1. Instead, fasten off and weave in ends.
