Check out this super cute and speedy neck warmer! Made with bulky weight yarn, this project is cozy, full of texture and SO easy! Notes:
– This pattern is written in US terms (find a stitch conversion chart here)
– The finished neck warmer (after seaming) measures approximately 12 inches long and 7 ½ wide
– Gauge is: 2×2 inches = 3 rows of HDC, each containing 4 HDC stitches
– If you would like to make your neck warmer larger (length wise), create your CH using any number of even stitches. Please note this will increase the yardage required
– Turning CH 1 does not count as a stitch throughout
– Special stitch tutorial is included within the pattern

Materials Needed:
–  Approximately 113 yards of bulky weight yarn. I used Lion Brand Yarn “Hue + Me” in the “Agave” colourway. Purchase this yarn at WeCrochet or Lion Brand.
– 8mm hook (check out these beautiful hooks)
Yarn needle
Scissors
Measuring tape
Stitch markers

Stitches:
CH – Chain
SS – Slip Stitch
SC – Single Crochet
HDC – Half Double Crochet

Special Stitch Tutorial:
Even Moss Stitch –
In the first stitch, place 1 SS. Make 1 HDC into the next stitch. Repeat across the row, always starting and ending with SS.
Detailed Tutorial: Click here

Pattern:
Begin with CH 56 and begin row 1 in the 2nd CH from your hook.

Rows 1-3:
Into the first stitch and each stitch across, place 1 HDC. CH 1 and turn.

(55 HDC stitches)

Rows 4-14:
Into the first stitch *place 1 SS. Into the next stitch, place 1 HDC*. Repeat from * to * 26 more times. Place 1 SS into the last stitch, CH 1 and turn for all rows.

(28 SS, 27 HDC stitches = 55 stitches)

Rows 15-17:
Repeat rows 1-3. After competing row 3, do not CH 1 and turn. Fasten off and leave a long tail for seaming (approx. 30 inches)

(55 HDC stitches)

Seaming:
Bring your two short ends together (photo A) and seam using the method of your choosing. I weaved my yarn tail back and forth, under the stitches and fastened off on the other end (photo B) of the neck warmer. You could also SS with your hook to seam. When you have finished seaming, fasten off and weave in all ends. While both sides of this neck warmer have a similar look, I like to have the two ridges from the HDC rows facing out.
