The Happy Vibes Cotton Coaster was originally released on Ravelry back in August 2019. It was definitely time for a refresh to spruce it up! I’ve taken new photos, added more detail to the instructions and made sure it was up the standards of my current designs.
If you are familiar with the old pattern, you’ll notice one difference is the edging. I replaced the crab stitch with a traditional single crochet stitch to make this even more beginner friendly.

With yarn colour A, begin with a magic circle OR CH 3 and SS into the first CH to make a loop.
Round 1:
CH 2 (counts as 1 DC) and place 9 DC into the loop. SS into the 2nd CH of the beginning CH 2. This is a good time to tighten up your centre loop.
(10 DC stitches)
Round 2:
CH 2 and in the same stitch, place 1 DC (see photo A below). Into each stitch around, place 2 DC. SS into the 2nd CH of the beginning CH 2.
(20 DC stitches)
Round 3:
CH 2 and in the same stitch, place 1 DC (see photo A above). Into each stitch around, place 2 DC. SS into the 2nd CH of the beginning CH 2 and fasten off.
(40 DC stitches)
Round 4:
Join yarn colour B into the top of any stitch with a SS, CH 1 (counts as 1 SC). Into each stitch around, place 1 SC. SS into the top of the beginning CH 1. Fasten off, weave in all ends.
