The Spring Vibes Skinny Scarf is an airy and light weight design using fingering weight yarn. Made using chain stitches and double crochet stitches, this project is a great introduction to working with thinner yarn. Learn more about this free pattern below…

After wearing cozy and heavy scarves all winter long, I was very much looking forward to some lightweight projects. When I was browsing the WeCrochet website, I found the Tonal Mini
Skeins Pack. It was 5 skeins of fingering weight yarn in pre-selected shades and seemed like a great opportunity to try some new yarn. I enjoy the challenge of creating projects with a limited amount of yarn so this was an easy buy for me. I chose the “Spring Fields” colourway because it was the shades were so refreshing and definitely spring inspired.
My testers made some very beautiful versions of this scarf and the most lovely shades. You can see their projects at the end of the pattern. A very special thank you to them for sharing their time and talents with me!
I hope you enjoy this pattern! Don’t forget to save it to your favourite crochet Pinterest board to share with other!
Notes:
– This pattern is written in US terms
– Gauge is 2×2 inches: 5 rows of DC, each containing 10 DC stitches.
– Finished size measures approximately 80 inches long and 5 inches wide
– Turning CH 2 does not count as a stitch
– Please use your preferred method of changing yarn colours, ensuring that your stitch counts remain the same
– Yarn colours B and D will use a little less yarn than the other sections. Due to the CH 1 stitches, these two sections might also want to pull in more tightly resulting in uneven segments. It’s important to keep a slightly looser tension when making the CH 1 stitches. You might find a quick blocking is needed after completing your scarf
– Special stitch tutorials are not required for this pattern
– For rows 75 and 149, you will be stitching into the CH 1 stitch, not the CH 1 space. A helpful photo is included within the pattern
– Please read through the pattern before starting your project to note when it’s time to fasten off and change colours
Materials Needed:

Each colour block will be referred to as “Colour A”, “Colour B”, “Colour C”, “Colour D” and “Colour E”. Each mini skein in this pack contains approximately 92 yards of yarn.
