– 4mm hook (I used the hook from my adorable Dots set)
– Yarn needle
– Scissors
– Measuring tape
– Stitch markers
Stitches:
CH – Chain
SK – Skip Stitch
SS – Slip Stitch
SC – Single Crochet
HDC – Half Double Crochet
Special Stitch Tutorial:
Even Moss Stitch – In the first stitch, place 1 SS. Make 1 HDC into the next stitch. Repeat across the row, always starting and ending with SS.
Detailed Tutorial: Click here
Pattern:
Begin with CH 12
Row 1:
Into the 2nd CH from your hook, *place 1 SS followed by 1 HDC in the next CH stitch*. Repeat from * to * 4 more times. Place 1 SS into the final stitch. CH 1 and turn.
(6 SS, 5 HDC stitches = 11 stitches)
Rows 2-12:
Into the first stitch *place 1 SS followed by 1 HDC in the next stitch stitch*. Repeat from * to * 4 more times. Place 1 SS into the last stitch. CH 1 and turn for all rows except after completing row 12, fasten off instead.
(6 SS, 5 HDC stitches = 11 stitches)

Edging:
(I find fastening off and re-joining the yarn in the middle of an edge provides a neater finish for the border. If you have a different method for working your border, please feel free!)
When crocheting the edging into the top and bottom of your project, you will be working into the stitches as normal. For crocheting on the edges which are the sides of the face scrubbie stitches, you’ll need to space out your slip stitches evenly. Look for natural gaps or spaces to work into. (Photo A)

Join yarn into the middle of any edge with a SS and CH 1. Evenly place 1 SS, CH 1 into each stitch, around all edges. Make 1 SS, CH 2, 1 SS, CH 1 into each corner space. SS into the beginning SS, fasten off and weave in all ends.
