– Yarn needle
– Scissors
– Measuring tape
– 16mm button
– Needle and thread for sewing the button
Stitches:
CH – Chain
SS – Slip Stitch
SK – Skip Stitch
SC – Single Crochet
DC – Double Crochet
Special Stitch Tutorial:
Suzette Stitch – One single crochet and double crochet are placed into the same stitch. Skip the next stitch. Repeat. After the last skipped stitch of the row, place 1 SC. Detailed Tutorial: https://sweetbeecrochet.com/suzettestitch/

Pattern:
CH 16 and begin row 1 in the 2nd CH from your hook.
Row 1:
Into the first stitch and each stich across, place 1 SC. CH 1 and turn
(15 SC stitches)
Rows 2-35:
Into the first stitch, place 1 SC and 1 DC. SK the next stitch. *In the following stitch, place 1 SC and 1 DC. SK the next stitch.* Repeat from * to * 5 more times. Place 1 SC into the last stitch. CH 1 and turn.
(8 SC stitches, 7 DC stitches = 15 stitches)
Row 36:
Into the first stitch and the next 6 stitches, place 1 SC. CH 3 and SK 1 stitch. Place 1 SC into the next 7 stitches. CH 1 and turn.
(14 SC stitches, 1 CH 3 space)
Edging: (Photo A)
Into the same stitch as the last SC of row 36, place 1 SC. Working into the sides of the stitches, evenly place 1 SC to the bottom of the rectangle. Place 1 SC, CH 1, 1 SC in the bottom corner space (creating the curve to the bottom edge). Place 1 SC into each stitch across the bottom, making 1 SC, CH 1, 1 SC into the last stitch to curve around to the next side. Continue up the last edge by evenly placing 1 SC into the sides of the stitches working back up to the top of the project. At the end of the edge, fasten off and weave in all ends.
Tip: There isn’t a particular space for working your edging since you are crocheting into the sides of the stitches from each row. Simply place your SC stitches into spots that create a neat and even distance.

Seaming and Button: (Photo B)
With the button hole at the top, fold up the bottom edge leaving 2 inches from the top of the pouch. With your needle and yarn, seam the open side edges weaving under the tops of the SC stitches making sure to work both front and back panels.

Sew your button onto the front in the appropriate spot fitting through the button hole. Fasten off and weave in all ends.

Great job! Your project is complete. For more fun and creative designs, be sure to check out the Free Pattern section of my blog. Ad free, printer friendly versions can be found in my Etsy and Ravelry shops. Happy Crocheting!
