Introducing the Sweet Suzy Face Scrubbies! I’m super excited to share this design as part of the Sweet Suzy collection. If you are familiar with the Sweet Suzy Washcloth and Sweet Suzy Hand Towel, these adorable face scrubbies are a cute addition to the set. My pattern testers loved how quickly they worked up and how fun they were to make.

Notes:
– This pattern is written in US terms. Click here for a stitch conversion chart
– The finished face scrubbie with edging measures approximately 3 ½ inches wide x 3 inches in height. Gauge is not included due to the small size
– Beginning CH 1 does not count as a stitch except when crocheting the edging
– Special stitch tutorial is included within the pattern
– This pattern is part of the Sweet Suzy collection which also includes the Sweet Suzy Washcloth and Sweet Suzy Hand Towel
Materials Needed:
– Approximately 10 yards of worsted weight cotton yarn for one scrubbie. I used Bernat Handicrafter
– 5mm hook (I used my cute WeCrochet Dots hook)
– Yarn needle
– Scissors (these are my favourite!)
– Measuring tape
Stitches:
CH – Chain
SK – Skip Stitch
SS – Slip Stitch
SC – Single Crochet
BLSC – Back Loop Single Crochet
DC – Double Crochet
Special Stitch Tutorial:
Suzette Stitch – One SC and one DC are placed into the same stitch. Skip the next stitch. Repeat. After the last skipped stitch of the row, place 1 SC into the final stitch.
Detailed tutorial: Click here
Back Loop Single Crochet (BLSC) – Instead of placing the SC into the two loops at the top of the stitch, place the SC only through the back loop.
Pattern:
CH 12 and begin row 1 in the 2nd CH from your hook
Rows 1-2:
Into the first stitch, place 1 SC and 1 DC. SK the next stitch.
*Into the next stitch, place 1 SC and 1 DC. SK the next stitch.* Repeat from * to * 4 more times. Place 1 SC into the last stitch. CH 1 and turn.
(6 SC stitches, 5 DC stitches = 11 stitches)
Rows 3-6:
Into the first stitch and each stitch across, place one BLSC. CH 1 and turn.
(11 BLSC stitches)
Rows 7-8:
Repeat rows 1-2. After completing row 8, do not CH 1. Please fasten off instead.
Edging:
(I find fastening off and re-joining the yarn in the middle of an edge provides a neater finish for the border. If you have a different method for working your border, please feel free!)
Join yarn into the middle of any edge with a SS and CH 1 (counts as 1 SC). Evenly place 1 SC into each stitch, around all edges. Make 1 SC, CH 2, 1 SC into each corner space. SS into the beginning CH 1, fasten off and weave in all ends.
