Fall is my favourite season. I love the transition from summer to the cooler temperatures. The changing colours, the brisk breeze…..curling up with scary movies, a good book or some yarn for a cozy project. I’ve been trying to be more intentional with my yarn stash which means using up what I have available before buying more. It’s August 15th and you know what that means….it’s Granny Square Day! Each year, on this date, crocheters join together to share their love of all things granny squares. Primarily taking place on Instagram, crocheters post their granny square photos, building community engagement and turning our Instagram feeds into colourful works of art. It’s so fun and such a nice way to connect with others in the crochet community.

This scarf pattern is such a fun and simple project that uses two strands of sock weight yarn. Hand dyed yarn is so beautiful and although sock weight yarn is often associated with knitting, it can work up beautifully in crochet projects too. You don’t even need to use the same colourways to make this scarf since you are combining two strands, there is so much room for colour combinations. For this scarf, I used two of the same colourway because I really loved the shades that were in it and was going for a bold statement piece.

The Happy Vibes Cotton Coaster was originally released on Ravelry back in August 2019. It was definitely time for a refresh to spruce it up!
